It is always interesting to see who is looking for dedicated DfAM staff as an indicator of which companies are focusing resources on additive manufacturing. Typically we see a lot of roles with AM hardware companies for application engineers to help prove out the business case for potential customers but we are seeing more career openings for companies with mature applications such as aerospace as per the additive job openings below.
Here are a few currently open as of late June 2022
Starting with possibly the most exciting position I have seen for a while at ORNL.
Principal Additive Manufacturing Design Engineer : Collins Aerospace
Principal Heat Exchanger Mechanical Design Engineer : Collins Aerospace
Advanced DfAM Additive Manufacturing Engineer : General Atomics
Additive Manufacturing Applications Engineer: General Atomics
Additive Manufacturing Engineer (maybe General Atomics)
Early Engagement - Senior Additive Manufacturing Design Engineer : Baker Hughes
Additive Manufacturing Project Engineer : Aerojet Rocketdyne
Additive Manufacturing Application Engineer : Siemens Energy
Design for Additive Manufacturing Engineer (DFAM) job : Unknown, Fremont, CA
And then for the AM companies looking for people with DfAM competency, typically as a pre-sales role.
