The DfAM (Design for AM) Substack is developed to fill a gap where the software, machines and materials for additive manufacturing are being developed at speed and scale but there is less information, education and content around Design for Additive Manufacturing (DfAM). We are seeing plenty of ‘design guidelines’ and certain heuristics but less on the design philosophy and business case of DfAM unless it is tied to a vendors case study.
The DfAM substack covers what it takes to really design for particular processes, the ‘freedom’ and constraints, physical, financial and political.
Written by and for designers and engineers in the field based on hard won experience through failure and success, curated by Duann at Bits to Atoms.
