Submissions Open to Present at CDFAM NYC 2024
All ‘Scales of Design’ and ‘Dimensions of Execution.’
Submissions are now open for the next CDFAM Computational Design Symposium. The event will take place on October 2-3, 2024, at Newlab in the Brooklyn Navy Yards, New York.
We invite presentations across all 'Scales of Design' and 'Dimensions of Execution'.
SCALES OF DESIGN:
Micro: Focus on material-level design considerations
Meso: Exploration of metamaterials and lattice structures
Macro: Discussion on topology optimization of parts and assemblies
Mega: Exploration of architectural system design methodologies
DIMENSIONS OF EXECUTION:
Academic: Cutting-edge research in design science and philosophy
Algorithm: Software tools and algorithms enabling advanced design
Application: Real-world engineering challenges addressed and explained
Automation: Scaling design to production for volume and/or diversity
We encourage people from any discipline that focuses on computational design of any scale and at any level of your career, from PhD students and start up founders, to leading experts in their fields from industry and academia.
How to Submit Your Proposal
To submit your proposal for a 20-minute presentation or panel discussion, please provide the following:
Topic: A concise title for your presentation.
Abstract: 100-300 words outlining the core ideas of your proposed presentation.
Bio: A brief biography highlighting your expertise in the field.
Previous presentations are available in the CDFAM archive to understand the range of topics addressed. The presenter and attendee demographics will give you an idea of the audience you can expect to present to and network with at the event.
The program for NYC 2024 is already under development with presenters from NASA, Glidewell, HP, nTop, Nervous System, Penn State, Carbon, Altair, and LifeNabled confirmed.
